Being Wise
**If you don’t know where you’re going how do you expect to get there?**
**To accomplish great things, we must dream as well as act.**
**Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.**

In support of our new President
Not part of the plan
My weekend did not turn out the way it was planned. I got the stomach flu Saturday night / Sunday morning (vomiting and crapping). Damn I was sick, it’s been years since I was sick like this. I never left the bathroom, instead I curled up like a ball on the floor in-between crapping and puking. Ah, it was horrible!
James and I were scheduled to go to another handler class on Sunday but I was too weak to go… It really sucked ‘cause I had been so looking forward to it. But not much to do about that...
I don’t think I’ve mentioned that James has an appointment to get his hips & elbows X-rayed (Hd/Ad röntgen) on December the 10th. I’m a little nervous considering my boy has to be sedated but also for the results… what will they say? Obviously I won’t know the results right away, but I truly believe he will have excellent hips & elbows. Now, that’s just a hunch I have, but I have been wrong before. :) I’m crossing my fingers & toes though …
Jayness got his much anticipated WP harness one or two weeks ago. It looks good, however, it’s slightly big. Last night we purchased a chain so we won’t have to borrow that all the time … and this also means we can train drag weight with him whenever we feel like it. Excellent!
My old fabulous boy Alih, is doing good. No more problems with his back leg – knock on wood… Ah, Thank God!
Anyhow, it is time to study…

He scared us
Yesterday, in the late afternoon, Alih went in to the bedroom but came back out quite fast. I heard Mr. L say: "What's wrong Alih?"
The old man could barley put down his back leg. :( I was thinking the worst right away. Mr. L and I got scared shit less. When I later on took Alih for a short walk he was able to put it down at least, but as soon as we came back in, he held the leg up. We still have a lot of medication left from Carlos, this is also the same type of medication Alih was given after his surgery, so we gave him some last night. And this morning - THANK THE LORD - he seemed fine. He must have just pulled something when he was trying to get up... We still gave him another pill this morning and I will continue to do so for the next few days. I spoke to Alih's vet a while back about starting Alih on this medication on a permanent basis (since he's so stiff and he has a front leg that bothers him at times) and the vet said to hold off as long as possible but when we felt it was time.. to come back to him and he would prescribe us more. I think it may be time for that. :(
We are going to the country this weekend, leaving in a short while. We should have left last night, but decided to wait and see what was going to happen with Alih's back leg in case he would have to go to the vet. James left with my folks early this morning so I'm sure he's having a blast right now, running around and acting like a wild man. :)
Yesterday, James spent the day with my dad and grandpa (Jay's grandpa and great grandpa in other words :)) ...he was out cruising with them, checked out some stores and stuff... hihi.. Oh, and I met my aunt's new family member. A Labrador puppy.. a little girl.. she was absolutely adorable. :)
Anyhow, time to get ready... have a great weekend!

His name is Barack Obama
****
The President Elect -
MR. BARACK OBAMA
It's an amazing day today... Wow, talk about history being made.
And to quote Obama on his victory speech: "Yes, we can".
****
YES, WE CAN!!!

This is a sight that seemed almost impossible only 10 years ago. Only 40 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King was shot dead... this is history .. this is history at it's best. I'm so happy I got to experience this day!

Election Day!
Talk about a big day today... very exciting. I think Barack Obama is going to win!!!! :) Please, please let me be right on this one!
I feel so sorry for him though, having to lose his grandmother to cancer yesterday, she was the person who more or less raised him. And the day before the BIG day. She won't be around to see her grandson make history... :(

A New Look
My page header got a new look thanks to my fabulous, soccer-playing star of a cousin! Miss Caroline happens to live on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, in Long Island, New York to be more specific, while attending Long Island University. THANK YOU, Q for updating my blog and for making it look so great! :)
